Introducing the Mint Aeonium Saucer or green Aeonium, which is a vibrant member of the Aeonium genus. Native to the Canary Islands, this succulent has gained popularity in rock gardens and landscapes around the world.
The aeonium mint saucer is known for its large rosette-shaped leaves that resemble mint leaves, hence the name. These leaves are a beautiful shade of green and have a slightly waxy texture. As the Aeonium plant matures, this durable succulent shrub mounds to form a dense colony, and can grow up to 2 feet tall, and 12 inches wide.
When it comes to flowers, the aeonium mint saucer produces tall, slender stalks with small yellow blooms at the top, during the summer.
These flowers add a lovely touch to the plant's overall appearance and can attract pollinators like bees and butterflies.
The mint aeonium saucer plant can undergo a dormancy period in hot summer months, requiring reduced water and pruning after flowering.
It thrives in California landscapes when planted in mass, containers, or alongside other contrasting shapes and colors.
When it comes to mint saucer aeonium care, it prefers bright but indirect sunlight. It can tolerate some direct sunlight, but too much can lead to sunburn. When it comes to watering, it's important to let the soil dry out between waterings, as overwatering can cause root rot. A well-draining soil mix, like a cactus or succulent mix, is ideal for this Aeonium plant.
When growing indoors, the mint aeonium saucer prefers warm temperatures between 60-75°F. If you're growing it outdoors, it thrives in USDA hardiness zones 9-11, which have mild winters and warm summers.
Propagation of the aeonium mint saucer can be done through stem cuttings. Simply take a healthy stem cutting, allow it to dry and callus for a few days, and then plant it in well-draining soil. With proper Aeonium care, the cutting will develop roots and grow into a new plant.
We think you will love this plant – order your very own Mint Aeonium Saucer today and start enjoying its beauty in no time!
